Swatch & Review | Moonflower Polish Spring 2017 collection (Partial)

Good morning, everyone! Today, I have four polishes from the Moonflower Polish Spring 2017 collection, featuring some lovely pastel colors perfect for both the spring and summer.

Moonflower Polish is a new indie brand on the scene, more specifically, a brand that is pumping out polishes specifically meant for stamping.

Let's take a look at some swatches!

There are a total of eight polishes in the Moonflower Polish Spring 2017 collection, four of which will be featured in this blog post. For some amazing swatches and reviews on some of the other colors in this collection, please check out the pages linked below:

All of the colors in this collection contain a gold shimmer to them, but from my testing have not found that this interferes with their stamping ability. For the sake of not sounding like a broken record, each finger will include a one-coat swatch of the color on the pinky and index fingers, and then the color stamped over a black and white base (Fancy Gloss in Snow Queen and Pitch Black) on my middle and ring fingers. All of these colors will dry to a semi-matte finish, and a glossy topcoat was used for all of my swatches. (I used Bundle Monster's collab with Tanya Wish, stamping plate BM-XL217, for all of the stamped swatches.)

Up first is Mango, a pastel orange with a slight gold shimmer.

Next, is Lemon, a pastel yellow with a slight gold shimmer.

The next color up is Apple, a pastel green with a slight gold shimmer. This one is my favorite!

And lastly, we have Hydrangea, a pastel blue with a slight gold shimmer. This one is another favorite of mine from the colors I received. <3

Here is a look I created using all four of the colors from Moonflower Polish, along with a couple of stamping plates from Lina Nail Art. I LOVE how this turned out! The Make Your Mark 03 stanping plate from Lina features a blank blocked out image that is meant to be used to create gradients without the need of a makeup sponge. This was really my first time trying the image out, so there were a couple of little smudges, but all due to user error. I created a gradient using the colors Apple, Lemon, and Mango and then stamped the butterflies from Lina plate 4 Seasons-Spring 01, in Hydrangea. I hope you like it! I finished everything off with a matte topcoat. :)

As stated up above, my favorites out of the colors I received are Hydrangea and Apple, not only because I am partial to blues and minty greens, but because they worked the best over both black and white bases.

I did not experience any trouble working with these stamping polishes, but I want to note that since they are specifically designed for stamping, the consistency will be on the thicker side and may make it a little tricky to work with, if you wanted to wear it as a regular polish. As long as you don't fuss with it too much once the color is on your nail, you should be okay in applying it in one coat as the formula seems to self level quite easily. While I have not experienced any issues with UBS so far, according to the maker, some of the colors were made with a lot of white pigment so there may be a chance of some bottles experiencing it in the future.

The other colors featured in this collection are:
Strawberry - pastel pink
Mint - pastel blue/green
Periwinkle - pastel indigo.
Moonflower - white with red-gold-green color shifting shimmer.
