Novel Nail Polish: Swatches and review of the Storybook Winter Collection!

Hello, again!

Today, I have an in depth review of the Storybook Winter collection from Novel Nail Polish! So exciting! Monica is such a sweetie and is a book nerd, like me! She sent these to me for swatches and I could not wait to put these puppies on. (It only took me forever to post the actual review but finals have been a pain in my ass and I am SO thankful that the semester will be over in another week. Yesssss!)

WARNING: Tons of pics up ahead!

Let's start with my favorites. First up, we have Sugar Plum Visions. One of my faves in the collection because it's purple, duh! lol One thing you will notice throughout my blog is that I can never own too many purple polishes, in any shade of purple. I love 'em all! As described on the store site, "Sugarplum Visions contains a variety of different iridescent glitters and shimmers, and even some gunmetal and purple holo as well." I love this! It shifts from an almost clear, light shimmery slightly lavender base when warm, to a lovely berry purple when cold. I added some stamping using my Cici & Sisi plates, along with some new stamping polish from Moon Nails Supply.

Next up is Too Sizes Too Small, a beautiful black-ish charcoal grey thermal. Described on the store site as, "This polish contains hints of gold shimmer, iridescent glitters, gold and silver holo, as well as some traces of black glitter." It shifts from a black, almost charcoal grey depending on how many coats are used, when cold to a clear base when warm. Stamping was done with my Cici & Sisi plates, along with my Mundo de Unas stamping polish in black.

Here we have The Long Winter, another fave. Described on the store site as, "When warm, the gold shimmer stands out, along with the iridescent and blue glitters this polish contains. Once cold, this polish turns teal, and all these glittery elements give it major depth!" I love this teal thermal! Reminds of of a mermaid's tail so I added a scale stamp from my Cici & Sisi stamping plates, using some new stamping polish from Moon Nails Supply.

Here is A Splendiferous Winter, a gorgeous pink thermal described on the store's site as, "When cold, this polish is a deep, glittery magenta. Once it gets warm, the color disappears. It contains a variety of different iridescent glitter as well as some small pink and silver holo pieces." I paired it with some stamping using my Cici & Sisi plates (set 1) and stamping polish from Mundo de Unas.

Sunny Dreams is a gorgeous orange thermal, described on the store's site as, "Sunny Dreams is a lovely, bright orange thermal that is gold and shimmery when warm. It contains a variety of iridescent glitter, some tiny red holo glitters and larger orange holo as well. When cold, it turns orange." I paired it with some stamping using my Pueen buffet style stamping plates and my stamping polish from Moon Nails Supply. I love this geometric design!

Last, but definitely not least, is Snow Queen! Described on the store's site as, "The Snow Queen is a bright blue thermal polish. When warm, iridescent and blue holo glitters and shimmers sparkle. Once this polish gets cold, it turns a lovely icy blue." I added some stamping using my Cici & Sisi stamping plates, along with my new stamping polish from Moon Nails Supply.

So, what do you guys think? I personally love them all and would definitely recommend everyone to get them while they're available. They are all so stunningly gorgeous and I think the thermal aspect of them really sets them apart from other polishes in my indie collection. Application was easy and they are so packed with glitter that there was no fishing needed for any of the larger sized glitters. I used 3 thin coats in all of my swatches but 2 coats would have been totally fine, I just wanted that extra punch of glitter with the extra coat. These all dry super quickly and dry to a textured finish BUT slap on a glossy topcoat and all is smoothed out for sparkly perfection.

You can purchase the set in either full or mini sizes and best part is that they are currently ON SALE! Click the links below for more info on where you can purchase your set today!
